The reason that they cannot use the 360Ft aerials is because they are well cemented at the base, so they cannot be turned, and are facing in to Europe on a SE beam to Europe, the former BBC MW World service on MW, so are not omni directional, and is in fact a five mast array, and they tend to cancel out the signal between them, so not good on low power.
