Further to the latest NA News, there have been developments concerning the lately silent Omaha station on 590kHz.
FCC’s database was revised yesterday, 7th July, changing the callsign of former 590 KXSP Omaha, NE (back) to its 1926 calls, WOW. The station also filed a “Resumption of Operations” on the same day, confirming that it is operating with the licensed 5kW day/night non-directional.
The FCC is to be commended for granting the requested waiver thereby increasing the number of remaining licensed AM stations with three-letter callsigns to 53.
