License Cancellations
In the course of one week, 28 full-power AM or FM licenses have been surrendered back to the FCC.
One-third of the license surrenders were Rufus Resources’ nine stations making up its Classic Country “No Bull Radio” in South Texas as the organization transitioned to a streaming-only platform. The licenses turned in by Rufus were: 92.1 KCAF-FM Kenedy, 95.3 KVWG-FM Dilley, 96.9 KWYU Christine, 100.1 KQBQ Myersville, 103.9 KBQQ Smiley, 104.3 KUFA Hebbronville, 105.9 KIBQ Austwell, 1280 KMFR/94.7 K234DG Pearsall, and 1490 KIBL/97.1 K246CP Beeville TX.
Another organization was responsible for ten of the deletions as Hispanic Target Media turned in ten of the twenty four licenses it held with most operating as part of its Regional Mexican “Radio Amigo” network. They turned in: 93.5 KGWT George West TX, 93.7 KXFS Rankin TX, 94.9 KHMZ Snyder TX, 95.1 KHMJ Troma CA, 99.3 KEHM Colorado City TX, 102.5 KXAM San Diego TX, 102.7 KQHM Zapata TX, 104.3 KPQG Goliad TX, 105.7 KOHM Ridgecrest CA, and 107.7 WAJP Perry FL.
