COPE infoloops on AM making it easy to identify which one we are hearing.
Interesting to ID the various COPE stations that used to be a big mashup with lots of echoes most of the time, but now airing local IDs constantly because of the on-going switch to FM:

1296 kHz is announcing 93.4 FM for Valencia
711 kHz is announcing various frequencies for Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca/Aguilas, eg. 106.9 and 89.2 / 89.4
1143 kHz is announcing 90.2 FM for Ourense
1215 kHz is announcing 106.1 FM for León.
(1053 is blocked by UK and 837 is swamped)

Furthermore, several “normal” COPE outlets are audible relaying the usual programme. at least one heard on 1143 announcing as “COPE Jaen 94.2 FM”. On 837, I found two COPE stations, one of them IDing as the southernmost “COPE Sevilla 99.6 FM” and one more (possibly Burgos).
1224 and 1269 carried the normal COPE stations, most probably Lugo and Zamora. So does 999 kHz with “COPE Madrid – connectate en tu communidad de Madrid”.

As announced, COPE is closing down its AM transmitters where FM is available on two or more frequencies.
So the question is: why is 999 kHz Madrid still active with the regular schedule? Madrid has COPE on 106.3 FM and COPE Mas on 92.0 FM (both logged on FM last summer). I cannot follow the argumentation that they are closing down in cities with COPE and COPE Mas on FM, as Madrid does fulfill this condition and still keeps on running on AM. Yes, its the provinces capital – but so is Valencia and that has the infoloop …
