Some planned TX outages for high power ABC MW included below.
Waiting up for these temporary switch offs is no guarantee that DX will be heard. Sometimes the transmitter is disappointingly only on reduced, or even full power during the planned maintenance time window. 
An easy check for me is 774 KHz Melbourne planned switch off at 0:06 AM, Friday 1st August. Since I never listen to ABC radio for entertainment, it will be tough waiting if there is a delay switching off.

Thanks to Rihards Millers in Latvia who brings our attention to the news published earlier this morning (30 July 2025) that Radio Liberty is to return on MW via Lithuania. According to the station itself (in Russian –https://www.svoboda.org/a/radio-svoboda-vozobnovlyaet-efirnoe-veschanie-na-srednih-volnah/33489174.html), the new broadcast times will be 8:30-11:30 Moscow time (05:30-08:30 UTC).

Translated to English the report on the Svoboda.org website reads:
“On August 1, Radio Liberty will resume broadcasting, which was suspended in June 2025 due to unfavorable budgetary circumstances.
Listen to us daily in the medium wave range at a frequency of 1386 kHz from 8.30 to 11.30 Moscow time. The program includes live news, analytical talk shows on current topics, interviews with experts and opinion leaders on politics, culture, public life; podcasts, the best from the Radio Liberty archive.
RS programs and news releases are still available around the clock in the audio stream on the Svoboda.org website , on the Radio Liberty Live YouTube channel, and in the main RS Telegram channel . Individual radio programs and podcasts from Radio Liberty are posted online, in particular, on popular podcast platforms and in the Radio Liberty Podcast Studio Telegram channel. You can also get acquainted with Radio Liberty programs through mobile applications for Android and iOS .

Rihards says that apparently for now BBC will remain in the late evening hours on 1386 kHz.

Riverbend Communications launched Farm News/Classic Country “Farm Country 1260” on KNBL Idaho Falls ID.
KNBL had been silent from June 2024 until just before its license was to expire as Riverbend was evaluating the economic viability of continuing to operate the station. It previously was the parent signal for Classic Hits “Cannonball 101” K266AF Pocatello.
The station is now featuring a mix of Farm News and Classic Country utilizing programming from the Western Ag Network including agricultural news from 5am to 12pm and rodeo reports in afternoons.
General Manager Kevin O’Rorke stated to Riverbend’s EastIdahoNews.com, “Our goal is not just to entertain with the music, but really to educate and give farmers and ranchers as much information or access to people who have that information that can help them run a more profitable operation.”

July 27, 2025 8:20 am a fire has been reported at knx radio station in Los Angeles. At approximately 8:15 one of the reporters in the studio said he smelled fire and that they were going off the air, only to play a recorded program as of 825 the record program remains on.

Also, after service resumed, the studio had a think acrid electrical smoke smell in it. The staff didn’t care much for that.

When they returned, they said an adjoining area on their floor, the 26th had a fire.  Alarms were going off In the studio and the fire department ordered them out. Emergency programming ran for more than half an hour, segments of a public affairs show dealing with mental health interspersed with station announcements giving a legal ID and that normal service would resume when possible. After the recordings started overlapping,  I shut the stream down (wife wasn’t interested in hearing that cacophony) . When I checked back, normal operations had resumed, with a brief mention of the fire after the TOH CBS news.

Just before midnight, I heard 1566 KHz 3NE suddenly switch off while airing a Wangaratta bistro ad. 4GM Wide Bay (Gympie) immediately heard with ABC YL announcer on a quiz show. No other 1566 KHz DX heard.
