Radio Today this evening has posted that medium-wave services carrying Greatest Hits Radio in Scotland will be turned off by the end of the year, In addition, Bauer will turn off AM transmitters carrying the national brand in Newcastle and South Yorkshire, along with Downtown Radio in Northern Ireland. Messages are currently being broadcast after each top of hour news bulletin suggesting listeners need to retune to keep listening.

I can confirm the closure announcement on GHR is broadcast hourly at :03 past the hour where the weather sponsor would normally be heard.
No date is given however.

I cannot yet confirm if it is heard on 1107 Inverness.

Regular message announcements are now being carried on all AM commercial radio stations in Scotland, owned by Bauer Media. Imminent medium wave closures will affect Greatest Hits Radio in Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee/Perth & Inverness. The AM transmitter in Aberdeenshire closed back in November 2018.

“We are currently off air because someone broke into Sentech’s transmission room on the grounds where we are situated and removed our ‘unit’ and also copper from our antenna. Unfortunately due to the long weekend it may take longer than expected to repair. However, some good news, we are still streaming.”
