Radio Monique, the former offshore radio station alongside Radio Caroline, has successfully obtained a new license for 1332 kHz, marking a significant milestone in their broadcasting journey. Transitioning from their historical roots, Radio Monique now operates under a low power AM license in the Netherlands.
Located in Velsen, the current broadcasting site provides a strategic base for their operations. On the 17th of February, a pivotal change occurred as the antenna frequency shifted from 918 kHz to 1332 kHz, enhancing the reach and clarity of their transmissions.
A notable addition to their setup is the installation of an old container at the factory, serving as the housing for the transmitter and antenna tuner. The current dipole antenna configuration will undergo further enhancements in the summer of 2024, promising improved broadcast quality.
Listeners can once again tune in to Radio Monique on 1332 kHz, with a power output of 100 Watt PEP. Despite the ongoing work ahead, gradual progress is expected over the coming months to achieve a robust medium-wave sound.
To provide a glimpse into the broadcasting site and antenna mast, several videos have been produced, offering an insight into Radio Monique’s operational setup.
Stay tuned for more updates as Radio Monique continues its journey towards delivering a high-quality broadcasting experience on the airwaves.

Radio Seagull broadcasts on 1476 AM have ceased.
Radio Seagull is no longer broadcasting on 1476 AM in the UK. Radio Seagull’s presence on this frequency was a joint venture with Carillon Wellbeing Radio in Coalville. Due to force majeur the long lasting co-operation between both stations has come to an end. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to CWR in general and its station management, Jon and Jan Sketchley in particular for many years of working shoulder to shoulder.
The other ways to listen to Radio Seagull do not change. Overnight on AM 747 and 24/7/365 via Tunein, App and www.radioseagull.com

An old radio station which once caught the imagination of the whole of Central Kerala for decades is sorely in need of an upgrade.
The Alappuzha Medium Wave (MW) Radio station, which is a transmission station for the Thiruvananthapuram relay station is on the verge of closure with almost obsolete equipment. One of its two vital transmitters has conked out.
The radio station initially had two 100 kv powerful transmitters which successfully delivered the Thiruvananthapuram radio station programmes to listeners in the districts of Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki. The Alappuzha radio station was established on July 17, 1971, initially operating on 580kHz and later changed to 576 kHz in 1978.

After generating global attention for its tower going missing, James Earley’s Oldies 1240 WJLX/101.5 W268BM Jasper AL has returned to the air as iHeartMedia has donated the HD3 of its 102.5 WDXB Pelham/Birmingham to feed the translator.
General Manager Brett Elmore shared, “iHeart reached out to learn more about the story and offered to help WJLX get back on-air and serving the Jasper community as soon as possible. They set us up on their iHeartRadio app and lent us one of their HD3 signals in Birmingham to get us back to our loyal Jasper audience. You’ll actually be able to hear “The Sound of Walker County” throughout North/North Central Alabama on 102.5-HD3!”
Elmore reported the theft of WJLX’s 200 foot tower earlier this month. However, as James Cridland, Wireless Estimator, and others have explained, many questions exist around the story as video evidence shows WJLX’s tower site in disarray for years with its electrical meter removed denoting it hadn’t had power and large brush and weeds growing through where supposedly the guy-wires had fallen days earlier. A message board user went a step further using Google Street View to show that the tower disappeared not in early February, but rather sometime between October 2022 and March 2023.
