June 13, 1924, 100 years ago. Article in the Long Beach Press radio page. Hometown radio station KFON at 1280 on the dial with 100-watts, put a local Boy Scout on the air at 9 p.m. to sound taps on his bugle, for the Boy Scouts of Long Beach at the summer camp on Catalina Island.
The Boys Scouts of Long Beach, CA had a licensed amateur radio station in 1924. They also started broadcasting station KFMY on 1310 kilocycles with 20 watts of power. But that station lasted only from January until June of 1924. Hal Nichols, owner of KFON, the Echophone Radio Shop station, had allowed the local boy scouts to broadcast their own program of Boy Scout news on KFON every Friday for 30 minutes since March of 1924.

Do some people know more about it?
The site has 2 4-mast antenna systems and maybe also an 8-mast system, I assume for MW.
Some other antennas look like SW and I dunno about the single masts there.

Very early on I contacted the Radio Calima 940 AM station via Whatsapp and they have officially confirmed to me that they continue to broadcast on an open signal at 940 kHz for a period of 3 more months, since the station was taken under lease by the Cali Radio foundation. which is dedicated to the conservation of the Environment, hence they did not justify changing the station’s original name which is deduced from its acrostic Calima (Cali – Environment).
On the other hand, their audio streaming continues to work in real time.

HARD RADIATION STORM: A powerful explosion on the sun today peppered Earth and nearby spacecraft with “hard” protons. The radiation storm fogged satellite cameras for hours. Following close behind, a CME is heading for Earth, and its arrival on June 10th could spark G2-class geomagnetic storms. Full story @ Spaceweather.com.
