Czechia

Another interesting AM station on the frequency 981 khz/10 kW in the Czech Republic is Radio Česky Impuls. I play there the best Czech songs from the 60s to the 80s. The whole day. Český Impuls has been broadcasting since September 28, 2014.

We broadcast not only Czech pop, but also Czech country, folk and tramp songs. The Czech Impulse program features Marie Rottrová, Waldemar Matuška, Pavel Dobeš, Ivan Mládek and Wabi Daněk. The station broadcast 24 hours a day. I will produce 10kW day and night. A new transmitter was built for this station in a meadow near the road to a nearby village. You can find out more about this station on the website. https://www.ceskyimpuls.cz/

Spain

Termination of the license of Radio Manresa 1539 kHz.
Translated from Spanish:
In the reference dated July 16, 2024 to the Council of Ministers, the following announcement appears:

  • AGREEMENT by which the resignation of Statement City, SL, to a license for the provision of radio audiovisual communication service on medium (hectometric) waves in Manresa (1539 kHz) is accepted and the termination of said license is declared.

So we officially have to consider Radio Manresa is the latest of the Spanish medium wave stations to leave the airwaves.

Space Weather

Big, active sunspot AR3738 is approaching “the danger zone”–a region of the sun magnetically connected to Earth via the Parker Spiral. If the sunspot explodes today or tomorrow, it could send a fusillade of energetic protons spiraling toward Earth. Such “proton storms” can fog cameras on Earth-orbiting satellites and reboot their computers.

Grenada / Carriacou

Randy Cornelius [the managing director, engineer and program director / Ed] posted this on the Harbour Light website:

NOTICE: The Harbour Light’s generator building was badly damaged and the AM tower fell down in the passing of Hurricane Beryl. The AM transmitter building lost it’s roof and the AM transmitter got wet. Other minor facility damage was sustained. We hope to have the FM and streaming back in the next week or two, Lord willing.
