Im pretty sure thats a goof in the system, Pamplin was a former owner.

Paul B. Walker Jr. to IRCA iog (2025-06-03)

I  think you’re right. The phone number shown for Pamplin is disconnected. I wonder how the FCC could do this.
The website and stream are still going strong. It looks and sounds exactly as if on the air with spots, mention of 50,000 watts and weather forecast for Wednesday. I called the phone number and it went to voice mail. Maybe she can turn a profit without a 50,000 watt transmitter.

It’s certainly a mistake/glitch, as Pamplin Media is no more. It sold all its newspapers to the terrible Carpenter Media group last year (full disclosure: Carpenter owns the Everett Herald in Everett, Wash., where I finished 15 years as a journalist back in 2008; it’s gutted that staff greatly).

All of Pamplin’s holdings, in fact, are being sold off to pay for the money he raided from his employees’ pension funds. This article from the newspaper where I interned in my college town mentions that the radio stations Pamplin bought turned out to be an ill-fated investment. Even KPAM 860 in Portland, named after Pamplin, was sold years ago.

Argentina

In order to keep the AM spectrum up to date throughout the territory of the Argentine Republic, we offer below a list of those stations that have not been reported as active for more than 24 months. The list includes all stations that for some reason have stopped broadcasting, either due to technical problems, because they had to temporarily suspend their transmission, or because they permanently ceased to operate on AM. There may be other stations in the interior of the country that are not included in this list, so we ask our readers to let us know which stations have not been heard on the air for some time. We remind you that we are already dealing with those radio stations that stopped broadcasting on AM several years ago and were duly identified in articles already published on this blog.

SEVERE GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH: A CME is heading straight for Earth–see below. NASA and NOAA models agree that it will strike our planet sometime on June 1st. The impact could spark a severe (G4-class) geomagnetic storm with auroras visible across Europe and many US states. This won’t be as big as the famous May 2024 storm, but it could be one of the bigger events of Solar Cycle 25 if a severe storm materializes.

BBC Radio 4 Longwave.
It still seems the station will close in 2025, although I have not seen a firm date quoted.
2025 marks 100 years since the BBC first broadcast on longwave. Campaigners want to see the Droitwich transmitter — which began broadcasting in 1934 — protected as a historic site.
