IRREGULARITIES AT MW.
I’m told that the RNE outage in Cantabria will last at least 3-4 days, which will allow us to record the spectrum without its unpleasant bandwidth, which includes 837 to 873 kHz in the case of RNE-RN and 1098 to 1116 kHz in the case of RNE-R5TN.

Radio Madrid closes in
PRISA or any of the other groups with medium-wave stations, including the RTVE group, have no choice but to shut down their medium-wave transmitters located in heavily urbanized residential areas. A medium-wave pole surrounded by people is, to say the least, disturbing and can potentially pose a health risk due to electromagnetic emissions. Add to that the fact that selling the land rebalances the bottom line, and few people know how to technically deal with breakdowns, obsolescence, a lack of technicians, and the price of spare parts, and it’s just a matter of time.
SER in Madrid plans to broadcast from the Onda Cero site and with the minimum allowable power: one kW?
Considering this, Santander could be one of the next!!!

Radio Madrid closes in. I’ve received news that SER Madrid [810 kHz / Ed] is broadcasting commercials announcing the closure of medium-wave broadcasts on October 15.
Very bad news because if the top of the chain falls, many more could follow.

Jorge Trinado Luque to iberiaDX iog (2025-09-19)

Hi everyone, PRISA has had the land sold for construction for some time now. All that’s left is to empty the warehouses and find out if they’ll broadcast from another location or via multiplex using Onda Cero’s antenna. I’ll see if I can find out anything else.

Russia

From September 18 until December 18, the RTRS branch ‘Saint Petersburg Radio Center’ will suspend broadcasts of Radio Maria in St. Petersburg on 1.053 MHz and in Vyborg on 92.6 MHz.
The decision to shut down the transmitters has been made by the broadcaster.

Alger Chaine 1 is back on 153 kHz. It can be heard at my QTH with S5-S7 signal after Antena Satelor signing off for nighttime break. The modulation is poor, here is a recording:

Unfortunately, most of KiwiSDR’s in Europe have terrible noise on LW, I didn’t find a suitable one to monitor it from closer to the TX.
