Colombia

During my stay on the island of Curacao in 2024 I received La Voz del Cañaguate on 860 kHz in excellent quality.  I sent them report and 1.5 year later I received this reply:

Si efectivamente era la emisora, lamentablemente después de eso unos vientos cruzados derribaron nuestra antena y no tenemos el recurso para volver a ponerla al aire.
(“If it was indeed the station, unfortunately after that some crosswinds knocked down our antenna and we don’t have the resources to put it back on the air. “)

And indeed they are no longer listed. I was wondering if someone else has more info, as I couldn’t find anything on the internet.:

Hello everyone, for the past couple of days, the 963 kHz frequency of Tunisia’s RTT Chaine Internationale has been off the air. On Wednesday, I picked up Iran’s Radio Khavaran, and yesterday, England’s low-power Sunshine Radio. You’ve been warned!
Rx: SDR Play RSP Duo, antenna: Wellbrook AL1530LN loop. QTH: Vilanova i la Geltrú

ULTRA-FAST CME EXPLODES FROM THE FARSIDE OF THE SUN:  Earth just dodged a bullet. An exceptionally fast CME erupted from the farside of the sun yesterday. It’s aimed at Venus, not Earth. Just last week, however, the instigating sunspot was directly facing our planet. Full story @ Spaceweather.com.

Romania

Following the reduction in Radio Romania‘s broadcasting hours, Radiocom, the operator responsible for broadcasting, cancelled the tender procedure that had been launched for the installation of new medium wave transmitter units (a 100 kW transmitter and a 50 kW transmitter).
Five years ago, the Romanian Broadcasting Corporation even gave Radiocom formal notice to replace the faulty transmitters or face termination of the lease agreement between the radio station and the company operating the transmitters.
Radiocom was forced to invest in the replacement of five medium-wave transmitters.
The new units were to be installed at the Rontău transmitter centre near Oradea (between Cluj and the Hungarian border): 100 kW to replace the 200 kW Harris on 909 kHz and the second at Valu lui Traian near Constanta (near the Black Sea) 1 50 kW transmitter.
On the other hand, Radio Romania International is limited to using a single frequency instead of two. DRM broadcasts will be subject to these restrictions. However, the transmitter that was used to broadcast the second frequency will remain on standby to be put into service in the event of a failure of the other transmitter. For technical reasons, this will result in frequency changes, and Radiocom maintains frequency records with the HFCC.
Radiocom was the largest European digital shortwave broadcaster in terms of broadcasting hours.

Salem Media Group will drop the Spanish Christian format “Radio Luz” on 620 KTNO Plano/102.5 K273BJ Dallas at the end of the month.
The station had assumed the format and brand in 2019 from former sister 1440 KEXB when that station was sold to Relevant Radio and swapped call letters with 620. The format dates back to 1997 and previously operated on 1440 as “Radio Vida” and “Radio Esperanza” prior to taking on the “Radio Luz” name following its sale to Salem in 2011.
In a translated message, the station shared, “With hearts full of sadness but also of gratitude, we announce that next October 31, after almost 4 decades of broadcasting hope and faith, Radio Luz will come to an end. This journey has been a blessing, and each one of you has been an integral part of this mission. We want to express our most sincere thanks to all the ministries, churches, organizations and businesses who have joined us on this journey. Your support has been a beacon of light in the darkness, and together we have shared God’s love through the radio waves. To our beloved audience, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives. Your prayers, testimonies and faithfulness have inspired us to press forward every day. Though this chapter closes, we know that the message of love and hope we shared will continue to resonate in your hearts.”
KTNO was Salem’s final in-house Spanish Christian outlet following the flip of “Radio Oasis” 990 WMYM Miami in June. 1650 KBJD Denver previously used the “Radio Luz” branding until it was leased to Iglesia La RED as “Radio La Red” in 2022.

(Hit FM 828 kHz has been broadcasting from Terrassa for 22 days. On 1 October, it lost its licence to broadcast on AM and was in an illegal situation. I suppose the Kiss group will file an appeal to get the licence back, but I doubt they will get it back. The land where the antenna is located is not in a populated area: https://maps.app.goo.gl/qePh8DC2zdMJPQgd9?g_st=ac
We will see what happens, especially if the Kiss FM 95.5 licence depends on AM broadcasting, as it was the former licence of Ràdio Terrassa AM and Ràdio Club 25 FM.)

Akash Broadcasting was approved to acquire CFRW 1290 Winnipeg MB from Bell Media “under the same terms and conditions as those currently in effect. Akash indicated that CFRW would broadcast 126 hours of programming per broadcast week, including 42 hours of local programming”.

A companion application for Akash to purchase CKMX 1060 [and CFVP shortwave] Calgary AB was denied by the commission.

SER Radio Madrid 810 kHz.
“Is the start of more MW relays being switched off I wonder ? What was the power output ?” asked Dave yesterday.

Sure it is, but there is no a known closedown schedule at all. This is the final countdown of a building investement. SER Network sold the antenna field some time ago and everything has to be cleared by 1st of December.
