There is an update on 1540 CHIN who had applied to move from 1540kHz to 900kHz with much-reduced power (see NA News in Medium Wave News 71/3 July/August). On 15th January 2026 CRTC approved the move to 900kHz according Broadcasting Decision 2026-12. Once the move is made to 900 KHz, the station will be allowed to continue broadcasting on 1540, simulcasting 900, for one year, to ensure that all of their listeners have migrated to 900. The licensee must implement the technical amendments no later than 15th January 2028.
