LUNAR ECLIPSE AND CME IMPACT: There’s a lunar eclipse this week, and, in a rare coincidence, a CME might hit Earth while the Moon is in shadow. This sets the stage for a potential aurora-Moon photo-op. The eclipse will be visible from Coast to Coast in the USA. Full story and timetables @ Spaceweather.com.

A Special Update on the New 702 DZAS Transmitter.
[….]
In June 2023, we launched the “Transmitting Signal, Transforming Lives” campaign to replace the station’s aging transmitter. By God’s grace and through the generosity of our ministry partners, the funds needed for the project were fully raised in early 2025. We praise God for His faithful provision every step of the way.
As we move into the final phase of the project, we would like to share an important update.
Due to unforeseen circumstances that affected global shipping and logistics, the project’s timeline had to be adjusted. We now expect the new transmitter to arrive in the Philippines this October, after which installation and testing will begin at our FEBC Bocaue transmitter site. By God’s grace, we are prayerfully looking forward to putting the new transmitter on the air by December.
This new transmitter will be instrumental in continuously delivering the message of Christ with greater reliability to listeners across Mega Manila and beyond.
As we prepare for this final stage, we invite you to continue praying with us for the safe arrival of the transmitter, a smooth installation process, and God’s guidance for everyone involved.
Thank you for journeying with us through this project. As we celebrate our 78th anniversary, we remain committed to communicating Christ in our world—until all have heard.

Sunspot 4513 has developed a ‘beta-gamma-delta’ magnetic field thatharbors energy for X-class solar flares.
Unlike Thursday’s M8-class flare, which missed Earth, future flares will not miss.
The sunspot has us in the strike zone now.

I just noticed another new one on 972.0290 over the cochannel Korean (and possibly Rhema). MP3 attached. Local ads for Murwillumbah, so this is 2MW Radio 97, part of the Super Network. Best heard from 1255 to 1300. MP3 attached.

Radio Capodistria will not be on air on the evening of 21 August, which means it will be possible to receive HLSR KBS Hanminjok Bangsong 2 from Seoul on 1170 kHz here in Salzburg. If you point your antenna towards Africa, TWR Africa, Mpangela Ranch, Eswatini, can also be heard clearly after 20 UTC.

The transmitter in Batrah, Egypt has serious issues, now it’s on 822v kHz. Few days ago it was on 808.3v then on 810v kHz instead of 819 kHz. And the audio is heavily distorted and under-modulated.
