Corus News/Talk 980 CKNW Vancouver BC will move to 730 on Monday, February 24.
730 CFGO began simulcasting CKNW last June following the end of of its all-Traffic “AM 730” programming during Corus’ cutbacks last summer. The company says the move of CKNW to 730 will “better service our Vancouver listeners and provide wider, more accessible coverage in Downtown Vancouver and the Lower Mainland”.
Both stations currently operate with directional 50kW signals day and night. The current 980 facility operates with a four tower array east of Vancouver past Surrey with nearly all of its power going west. The 730 facilities is closer to Vancouver southeast of the city using three towers during the day and four at night.
Corus made a similar move in Edmonton last October with 630 CHED moving to 880. 880’s All-News “Global News Radio” programming signed-off simultaneously with CFGO last June.

Monday mid-day KGO 810 changed to KSFO. Reminder on 11/18/24 KSFO 560 started to simulcast on 810. IDing as “KSFO San Francisco, KSAN HD-2 San Mateo, KGO San Francisco.” On Monday January 6 KSFO 560 changed to KZAC and 810 became KSFO. Now IDing as “KSFO San Francisco, KSAN HD-2 San Mateo, KZAC San Francisco. A Cumulus Media Station” and still simulcasting on 560.–

Today an FCC application was filed to change the calls of KGO-810 to KSFO, with the current KSFO-560 becoming KZAC.  Both changes to be effective on January 1.

KSFO moved to 810 last night just before midnight,  KGO’s sports betting was there until 23:55 PST, followed by cluster of ads..  At 23:59 there was some Red Eye Radio stuff, and then a “Talk Radio 560 KSFO San Francisco Oakland San Jose” ID.  
I checked 560 but it was mostly KPQ Wenatchee WA with a surprise KLZ Denver in the background. So i;t’s not clear what happened on 560.  News releases from a couple days ago only mentioned KSFO changing frequency with no mention of what happens to KGO or 560.

No call letter change has been filed yet. The KSFO talk format is being simulcast on 560 and 810 for now, and the calls are still KSFO on 560 and KGO on 810.
There’s been no announcement made yet of what happens next on 560.

KSFO To Move To 810; KNBR Sets New Lineup.
The changes at Cumulus Media San Francisco continue as the company has announced that Conservative Talk 560 KSFO will move to 810 on Monday, November 18 and Sports 680 KNBR/104.5 KNBR-FM will debut a new lineup and studio location.

KSFO will replace Sports Betting “810 The Spread” KGO on 810 giving the Conservative Talk outlet the 50kW signal. No changes to its all-syndicated lineup will accompany the move. The shift to 810 will improve KSFO’s coverage in the San Jose area.

KNBR will relocate its studios to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, the home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers. With the move the station has announced that Greg Silver will join 49ers play-by-play voice as midday co-host and producer replacing John Lund starting November 18, while Derek Papa will join Adam Copeland in afternoons on December 2. Derek Papa has served as afternoon producer June 2022 after previously working at KGMZ San Francisco and NFL Network. Silver has been a producer at the station since April 2023 and serves as play-by-play voice for the University of California.

Edmonton’s 630 and 880 swap call letters.
Several reporters indicate they have heard legal IDs at top of the hour for CHED-880 and CHQT-630 since Midnight last night (0000 MDT Oct 9).  CHQT-630 began airing almost continuous announcements of CHED’s move from 630 to 880 with CHED-880 live programming playing in the background during the announcements and at full volume in the few seconds (2-20 seconds) between those lengthy announcements, some more than 30 seconds long.
Better hurry to log CHQT-630 as they likely won’t be around more than a few weeks.  For those that log call letter changes as separate log entries.
