After twenty two seasons on News 780 WBBM, the NFL’s Chicago Bears will move their game broadcasts to Good Karma Brands’ “ESPN 1000” WMVP for the 2023 season.

The Bears will join MLB’s Chicago White Sox on WMVP with the station planning to add “unique content” to air on its local shows.

WBBM had served as home of the Bears since the 2000 season after previously being home to their games from 1977 to 1984. During the franchise’s history, their games have also been heard on 560 WIND, 670 WMAQ, 720 WGN, and 1160 WJJD.

From tomorrow 1 Nov 2022 the timings of News in English and Hindi originating in  All India Radio –  New Delhi and relayed by all stations of AIR is changing their schedule.

The changes of major bulletins are as follows:
The durations has been changed from 30 minutes to 15 minutes of the following

Morning News
Hindi  0230-0245 UTC  (ex 0230-0300 UTC)
English 0245-0300 UTC (ex 0300-0330 UTC)

Mid-day News
English  0830-0845 UTC  (ex 0830-0900 UTC)
Hindi 0845-0900 UTC (ex 0900-0930 UTC)

News
Hindi  1515-1530 UTC  (ex 1430-1500 UTC)
English 1530-1545 UTC  (ex 1500-1530 UTC)

Hourly News in English & Hindi will be 5 minutes each (ex 10 minutes)

Note: Due to above changes, many stations may sign off at night etc. about 10 minutes earlier than present time.
Announcements about the news timings was heard on AIR in Hindi News bulletin today at around 1445 UTC.
Incidentally, the new timings are the same as the old timings which were in force before the Covid 19.

After much earlier starts to the Christmas music season in 2020 and 2021, we do have our first all-Christmas music launch for the 2022 Holiday season.

Cumulus Media AC “Lite Rock 100.7” 1340 KRMD Shreveport/100.7 K264AS Mooringsport LA made the move to all-Christmas at 9:00pm on Friday, October 28 kicking off with Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas”.

KRMD’s launch was the latest for the first station to go all-Christmas since WTRV Grand Rapids became the first to make the move in 2018 on October 30.

MyTown Media has flipped 1340 KSEK/107.9 K300DE Pittsburg KS to its Country/Red Dirt “My Country” brand.

KSEK previously featured a Sports format airing Fox Sports Radio under former owner Michael Landis until being swapped to MyTown Media last year, who switched it to CBS Sports Radio at the start of 2022. Landis would drop the “My Country” brand from 101.7 KHST-FM Lamar MO in June in favor of Oldies.

MyTown Media operates the “My Country” brand in six Kansas markets with KSEK joining 93.5 KKDT Burdett/Hays, 98.3 KQZQ Kiowa, 99.5 KHDL Americus/Emporia, 102.9 KBIX Independence, and 1460 KKOY/99.9 K260DF Chanute. All six stations feature Colby Ericson in afternoons with his “35 South” Red Dirt show airing on Fridays.

Don Davis’ Vanguard Radio Center has launched 1100 KRKE Peralta/93.7 K229CL Albuquerque NM and is currently stunting with a ten minute loop of remixed clips of 1980s songs ahead of a new format launch on Friday, October 14 at 12pm.

Davis purchased the CP for a then new CP on 1120 AM on 1120 in July 2020 for $25,000. After a few modifications to the CP as well as the move of what is now 1080 KEMR Moriarty from 1090 in Milan NM, the AM signed-on in February simulcasting KEMR with 1kW daytime. The 93.7 translator previously rebroadcasted Rock of Talk LLC’s Conservative Talk 1600 KIVA Albuquerque.

The new format on KRKE/K229CL will join a Vanguard operation that includes Dance “96.7 Pirate Radio” KSFE Grants, Hip Hop “101.3 The Hustle” KYLZ Albuquerque, Regional Mexican “La Mexicana” 106.3 KXOT Los Lunas/95.9 K240EC Santa Fe, Smooth Jazz “103.7 The Oasis” 1510 KOAZ Isleta/103.7 K279BP Albuquerque, and Full Service AC “East Mountain Radio” 1080 KEMR/102.1 K271DC Moriarty,

SPORTS Betting is spread across KGO.
After abruptly eliminating its heritage Talk format on Thursday, Cumulus Media launched Sports Betting “810 The Spread” this morning.

KGO will utilize programming from Audacy’s BetQL and CBS Sports Radio networks which are both distributed by Cumulus’ Westwood One. It becomes the third Sports brand in the Cumulus San Francisco cluster joining 680 KNBR/104.5 KNBR-FM and 1050 KTCT.

The station’s lineup will feature BetQL Daily from 6-9am, the Jim Rome Show from 9am-12pm, You Better You Bet from 12-4pm, Bet MGM Tonight from 4-8pm, and CBS Sports Radio overnight.
