600 BC Vancouver CKSP Off the air the last week of August after it was discovered that the voltage rating of the guy wire insulators was too low
to handle the signals of both CKSP and CKNW on the same towers. Replacement now completed and CKSP is back on the air testing 24/7.
960 ON Mississauga CKNT Applied to increase Ethnic programming from 15% to 22% per week, and to modify its English language programming
to include World Music with announcing using some non-English words to help newcomers improve their English.
1200 BC Vancouver CJRJ Short term license renewal expiring August 31 2023 due to multiple failures to meet conditions of license.
1380 ON Brantford CKPC “Arise Brantford” moved with their Current Christian Hits format to 25KW CKPC August 31 in a format swap with
CFWC-FM, which became “Hot Country 93.9”, dropping CKPC’s Hometown Radio branding.
1410 QC Montreal CJWI (Incorrectly listed as “St Constant” in the government’s Spectrum Management System) Short term license renewal,
expiring August 31 2022, due to numerous failures to meet conditions of license. The CRTC also issued three new Mandatory Orders to emphasize the severity of these failures.
1490 ON Mississauga CHTO-1 Construction Permit expired September 1 and no extension has (yet) been announced. There are no confirmed reports of the station being on the air yet. Was licensed to simulcast CHTO-1690 Toronto with non-directional 23 watts day and 770 watts at night, to improve night-time coverage in the west end of Toronto, especially Brampton, Etobicoke and Mississauga, which are areas where CHTO-1690’s signal has been inadequate at night since CJLO-1690 Montreal came on the air more than 10 years ago.
