The 5000 Watt Auckland transmitter for Rhema Radio on 1251khz made the 7100 mile/11410km journey to McGrath, Alaska on Sunday March 14th between 1545 and 1605UTC. I had some music that sounded like english language music.. just starting to bubble up slightly above the noise. Pulling up the Rhema stream, it sounded like a cadence match but I couldn’t be for absolute sure, but the only other english language 1251 was in Australia and running all talk at the moment, I certainly had music here.
About 1703UTC give or take I had a fade up of accented english reading a weather.. I grabbed my phone and hit play on the Rhema stream and had a MATCH with weather playing on the stream about 45 seconds later as I stood outside at -5F below.  (amazing considering I was using wifi on my phone thats connected to satellite internet.. amazing that the delay was only 45 seconds!)
Here’s my audio of Rhema Raido 1251 Auckland.  Not great but it’s there:

What Mediumwave DX sounded like in 1933: this video posted by the Antique Wireless Association features clips recorded by a UK DXer that year of mediumwave stations from the U.S. as received at his location. He was recording to aluminum disc, a process that involved “embossing” rather than cutting, as with lacquer discs. The audio (and reception) quality is pretty amazing:

Chief Engineer George Hudson encouraged the station to use the testing of new remote and automation controls as the bias for this special event.
Phil Bytheway of the International Radio Club of America started all this rolling by reaching out to George Hudson months ago as part of his specialized sub-interest of collection radio station promotional materials. Paul Walker, Joe Miller, KC80, and our newest members, Loyd Van Horn, W4LVH, and George Santulli . These folks do all the real work of the CPC and never get enough credit.

Uruguay

Two stations in Montevideo, Uruguay are currently off the air due to actions of alleged looting by vandals. The damage was reported in the respective transmitter sitesemission plants, with theft of cables and other material, which prevents them from going on the air. This has been the case of CX42 Emisora Ciudad de Montevideo; and a few hours ago, that of CX30 Radio Nacional. Both used SW in the past.
The two stations, as well as a bunch of other broadcasters have their transmission sites on the outskirts of the city, in semi-urban areas. And they must have their own guardmen, who even inhabit those places permanently, keeping watch.
It is rather unusual for two stations to be off the air for these reasons at the same time, nevertheless they are framed in a certain panorama of economic crisis in the field of medium wave broadcasting. So much so, that the first to suffer the damage, the Yizmeián brothers’ CX42, that happened three months ago, has not yet been able to recover from the disorder. And it is very likely that its current owners sell it, according to my reports.
In the case of CX30, 1130, it is financially supported, as stated, by contributions from unions or employee unions, where they take the opportunity to publicize their auditions. The two, as well manage the system of rented programs.
A few weeks ago, the status of the emblematic only-tango and folk music CX58 Radio Clarín, 580, was announced it had to close on March 1, is also for sale and currently in stages of transfer of ownership, with the intermediation of the Ministry of Culture as an exception. It has continued broadcasting, until they find new administration.

“During the storm of yesterday, the antenna of Brrhrimx from Voorburg is damaged, so that there are temporarily no broadcasts via the LPAM 1395 kHz. The second and third program, Brrhrinx and Brrhri can be heard via the 1485 and 846 KHz. “

WLW-AM Begins 100th Year On Air.
It wasn’t Cincinnati’s first radio station, but WLW-AM [700 kHz] is still the biggest.
Cincinnati industrialist Powel Crosley, Jr. began broadcasting WLW-AM over a 20-watt station from his College Hill home on March 2, 1922 – which means that the station is entering its 100th year today.

Mexico

R Educacion gets to keep AM 1060 as well as FM.
Google translate:
Radio Educación obtained a new concession title to exploit the frequency of 1060 KHz of modulated amplitude with coverage in Mexico City, after accrediting the requirements and surpassing third-party operators of a public-social nature that were also interested in operating the station to have its own communication channel in the capital’s sound broadcasting.
XEEP-AM will spend another fifteen years in the power of the Ministry of Culture, the legal concessionaire of that spectrum signal, but in practice the operator is Radio Educación, nowadays a body attached to this federal agency. The new concession was delivered on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
