BBC Radio Ulster 1341kHz and BBC Radio Foyle 792kHz have both ended normal broadcasts on MW. They are carrying a recorded message telling people to retune.
These messages are a last chance to hear these stations and to get a QSL. Not only are they the last chance, they are the best chance. That’s because the recorded messages are unique on each frequency and they repeat every minute or so. So you have a great chance of hearing an ID, which might be difficult with normal programming – especially with nighttime networked shows.
I’m led to believe that these recorded messages will end on 23rd June after which the transmitters will fall silent.
