The five station cluster that Reier Broadcasting Company shut down in June 2018 will soon return to full-time operations under new ownership.

Cam Maxwell’s Desert Mountain Broadcasting has agreed to purchase the former Oldies 93.7 KOBB-FM Bozeman, Classic Rock 97.5 KOZB Livingston, Country 99.9 KBOZ-FM Bozeman, Talk 1090 KBOZ Bozeman, and Sports “ESPN 1230” KOBB Bozeman from receiver Richard Samson for $300,000. The stations have operated minimally since just to keep their licenses alive. The stations were involuntarily transferred to Samson for divestment in 2019 following Bill Reier’s death and a 2020 sale to Ted Austin’s SW Montana Media failed to close.

Desert Mountain Broadcasting was formed by Maxwell in 2019 when he purchased the Connoisseur Media cluster in Billings that he had led as General Manager since 2015. It first entered Bozeman with the purchase of 1490 KYWL/104.1 K281CX Bozeman from Chaparral Broadcasting for $50,000 last October and launched Rock “104.1 The Zone” in March.

An LMA to begin restoring the stations to operation began earlier this month.

Unfortunately World Music Radio WMR is off the air on 927 and 15790 kHz due to technical problems. However, 5930 and 25800 kHz remains on the air 24/7 – as well as the internet streaming of course.
It is expected that 927 will be back on the air by early September. When 15790 is back on the air is uncertain.

I emailed the RTÉ general information email this evening enquiring about the return of the LW 252 frequency, and I have just received the following reply:

“Thank you for your email on behalf of your friend. We have been advised that power to the LW transmitter will be powered up gradually from approx. 9:30 on Monday 16th August. Hopefully, there is no issue and coverage will be restored to you at some point during Monday 16th.”

So it looks like the frequency will be back on the air tomorrow. I will monitor it as my QTH is only 20Km from the transmitter site

Radio Kermanshah on 1278 kHz is missing since a few days. I saw in the news, that major drought and power shortages are hit Kermanshah region with 50 degrees since weeks.
So probably the transmitter is off or working with shortene schedule or on air with with low power.
Usually R. Kermanshah is one of the most stable IRIB’s at my location during the night.
