Now positioning as “Annapolis’ Greatest Hits” and also heard on 99.9 W260BM Annapolis.

As part of its acquisition of Spanish language television streaming platform Pantaya from Hemisphere Media Group, TelevisaUnivision will divest some of their radio holdings in Puerto Rico.
Hemisphere will acquire assets that include Spanish News/Talk 580 WKAQ San Juan and Bilingual CHR “KQ 105” WKAQ-FM San Juan in the deal along with cash for Pantaya. The announcement does not make clear if WKAQ simulcasters 600 WYEL Mayagüez and 1420 WUKQ Ponce and WKAQ-FM simulcaster 98.7 WUKQ-FM Mayagüez are part of the deal.
Hemisphere Media CEO Alan Sokol states in the announcement that “they will continue to work closely with the TelevisaUnivision Uforia programming team who, with its deep music expertise, will continue to program the KQ105 FM station”. The Puerto Rico radio station assets will be paired with the company’s WAPA-TV network on the island.

Unfortunately not for much longer.
In February KAAY 1090 requested removal of its nighttime directional antenna & a reduction of nighttime power to 80 watts omni-directional. To remain 50,000 watts during the day.
KAAY’s app to change to a class D facility, 50kw-D, 0.08kw-N was granted on 6th May.

Mi Amigo DJs reunite for one last Caroline broadcast.
A group of DJs who served on the Mi Amigo in the 70s are reuniting for one last broadcast on Radio Caroline this summer, live from the studios on board Ross Revenge.
The theme of the broadcast on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July is ‘The Sensational Seventies’.
Here’s the line-up:
We will be running six trips to Ross Revenge during the broadcast and visitors will meet the DJs and tour the ship. Unlike our usual boat trips, the tender will depart from Bradwell-on-Sea in Essex.

A magnetic filament on the sun erupted May 7th, hurling a CME into space. NOAA analysts say it might deliver a glancing blow to Earth’s magnetic field on May 10th.This is a low confidence forecast. Minor geomagnetic storms are possible if/when the CME arrives.
