LT32 Radio Chivilcoy 1550khz taken off air twice due to vandalism/metal thieves.

Exactly one week ago, Radio Chivilcoy was affected in its usual programming by a power outage at the plant caused by criminals who literally ripped out the cables and the box on the way down.
This caused Radio Chivilcoy and FM Sónica to be off the air for more than four hours, until personnel from the station and from the internet supply company that has its equipment in the tower located on Rossetti and 102nd Street were able to repair the damage.
Today, seven days after this event, such an act of vandalism is repeated, once again leaving the two most important radio stations in the city off the air, again in hours close to noon, this, in addition to the damage it causes to the media, is an act highly dangerous since in such a place the electrical tension that is handled is 380 volts.
Those who have carried out this violation may or may not be aware of the high risk to their lives.

Starting Sat. July 16th @ 8 p.m. ET WBCB (1490, 107.3) in Levittown, PA will be off the air for power maintenance from 8 p.m. ET overnight for the next few days. Music, likely automanted will continue overnight on their stream. with live over the air programing during the day. They probably chose this time period as they carry the MLB Phillies evenings although not on the stream. After Sunday’s daytime Phil’s game in Miami the team will be off for the All-Star break and back Friday July 22nd. Just giving a heads up in case you want to go DXing in the 1490 graveyard and you’re in Bucks County, PA or Mercer or Burlington County, NJ. Good luck. www.wbcb1490.com

After several weeks of staying off the air, AM 810 FEDERAL RADIO (810 KHz) is reported again active, one of the two MW  stations that are operated by the firm “Aires Radio S.R.L.” with studios in the Barrio de Liniers of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Ukraine

UR-1 from Chasiv Yar is on air now (14.07.2022 ~ 2025 UTC) on 873 kHz with the usual signal level // 1278 kHz.

The absence probably caused by power shortage as the result of the shelling by the Russian forces. Note, this transmitter is only ~20km away from the front-line.

Australia

On Wednesday 29 June 2022 the ABC and the Australian network operator BAI hosted a demonstration of Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) on both AM and FM in Wangaratta, a location in the state of Victoria.

The demonstration was the culmination of almost two years of COVID impacted work to assess the performance of the DRM services on VHF and MF bands.

Senior representatives from the public, commercial and community stations, the regulator and interested parties including the ABC, SBS, CBAA, ARN, ACMA, TAB and ACE Radio, travelled to the regional sites to see the facility and more importantly to experience the audio quality available through the DRM signals on both the MF (AM) band from Wangaratta MF and the VHF (FM) band from Mt Baranduda.

The attendees visited the MF site at Wangaratta where a simulcast of the AM and DRM services was operating and were able to see the transmission equipment.

At the local Rovers Football club carpark, two vehicles were set up with receivers for stationary listening and demonstrations of the emergency warning capabilities to “wake-up” the radios.

The third part of the demonstration was drive tests for the attendees to demonstrate the audio quality on the move and the ability to switch between AM, FM and the two DRM signals.

Feedback from the attendees was universally positive.
