On 30 August, MBIE have allocated the licence for AM frequency 1566 kHz in Wellington to Radio Tarana (NZ) Ltd for $16,906.35. This amount is less than the $22,000 paid by World TV Ltd in January 2015 for the licence, and the $26,664 in May 2019 with the licence being cancelled, presumably because broadcasts were not underway within 2 years of the licence being granted. (David Kaio, who says he doesn’t recall MBIE inviting expressions of interest for the licence before allocating it to Tarana.)
