The Catholic Radio Maria [ex 1053 kHz] in Russia was on the verge of closing.
The Christian channel “Radio Maria” is experiencing serious difficulties in Russia. The editorial office had a large debt for broadcasting – it had to be turned off in the radio range. Broadcasting continued on the Internet, but soon there were no live broadcasts here either: employees were sent home. For this reason, the broadcasts on YouTube also stopped. The radio had to switch to an archival broadcast format – now only Divine Services are broadcast online.
Financial problems were exacerbated by the fact that the bank refused to assign bank details for money transfers to the organization. As a result, accounts were opened in another bank, the editors said.
