Romanian MW survey.
Sunday morning from 5 to 6 UTC, there was a Romanian programme that was extraordinary. Old nannies chatting and laughing, interviews of (presumed) peasants, “a capella” religious anthems from elderly women (you could hear the church bells in the background), different forms of folklore, inventive and picturesque. Somehow it did not sound like the regular Radio Cluj which has a tendency to mix Romanian pop with International pop (not as often as Romania Actualitati but there’s the sad Western trend). After a good series of musical and (almost ethnographic) nuggets I heard “Aici Radio Targu Mures”.Then a few mns before 0600 UTC; an heterodyne spoiled 1593 khz and at 0600 sharp a stronger broadcaster announced Radio Cluj and Targu Mures was drowned.
