On January 10 we returned KOAC Corvallis (550 kHz) to full 5 kW operation with its “soft figure 8” day and night directional patterns, after a year of non-DA 1 kW and lower power operation. The transmission lines to the towers had been “backhoe faded” and so new underground conduit and coaxial lines had to be installed, and some other upgrading of the antenna feed system was performed. It is the only completely slant wire fed medium wave directional antenna in the US., and perhaps in the world. (There is one other DA in the US with one of its two towers slant wire fed, however.)
