SEVERE GEOMAGNETIC STORM: A CME struck Earth’s magnetic field yesterday, sparking a severe geomagnetic storm–the strongest since Sept. 2017. Sky watchers in Europe and the USA missed seeing a magnificent display of auroras by a matter of hours, a result of the CME’s poor timing for Western sky watchers.
