Lyca Radio has confirmed that it will officially be launching in Greater Manchester at the end of April.
The move comes after the group acquired Asian Sound Radio in December last year.

The new station – Lyca Radio – Greater Manchester will reference its history in the new strapline: “A New Asian Sound For The North West of England.”

It will also continue to tell listeners that it was previously known as Asian Sound Radio.

“We are super excited to be finally launching Lyca Radio in the North West of England region. Since we took over from the previous owners of Asian Sound Radio, we’ve been welcomed with open arms by listeners and advertisers,” said Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Media.

Village Radio 1368 AM will be running a special transmission this coming Saturday the 13th of April.

It is exactly 40 years since the radio station commenced broadcasting from the Historic Village here in Tauranga so we are hoping the Collins High Fidelity Broadcast Transmitter will be back running all day….!  We usually run a J1000 Nautel, and now are also “Live Streaming” on our website, www.villageradio.co.nz

I will be firing up the transmitter at around 7 am for the duty announcer, Steve Lambie.
It has been tested so all the lovely old valves should be lit up and be working like they did 86 years ago.
We still believe this transmitter is possibly the only one of its type, still working 100%.
Best wishes, 73’s George Stewart, for villageradio.co.nz

So BBC Radio 4 198 from Droitwich is of air at this time, but still a weak signal coming through down here in Devon from either Westerglen or Burghead Transmitter, both at 50 Kw.

Translated from German:
Tonight, April 10th, there will be a test broadcast from the southern Italian region of Apulia.
Modulo Radio will – intentionally to avoid interference – transmit on the odd frequency 1508 kHz from 1930-2130 UT with low power, probably around 200 watts.
