Our team is working round the clock to restore the MW services as soon as possible.
However listeners can tune in to listen to all the programmes of Akashvani Rohtak on FM 103.5 MHz and our NewOnAIr app.

THE STORM IS NOT OVER: A CME hit Earth’s magnetic field on May 10th, sparking the biggest geomagnetic storm in almost 20 years–an extreme (category G5) event. It is subsiding now (currently category G3), but it is not over. More CMEs are expected to hit Earth’s magnetic field during the next 24-48 hours, and they could push the storm back to severe or even extreme levels.

SEVERE GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH: Giant sunspot AR3664 has now hurled at least four CMEs directly toward Earth. Their combined arrival this weekend could spark severe (G4-class) geomagnetic storms with mid- to low-latitude auroras. Although this is a potentially significant space weather event, it is not going to be the next Carrington Event. If the coming storm were a hurricane, it would be ranked category 4, not category 5. 580 CHAH Edmonton to carry football commentary in Punjabi.
CHAH 580 Radio Sursangam is a relatively new Punjabi station that began testing on 24th July 2020.
Steve Whitt reports that Edmonton Elks have signed a game commentary contract with the
station. Elks play in the Canadian Football League (this is American, not Association, football) club
and the news is on CFL’s Elks website. If one were lucky enough to hear sport commentary in
Punjabi on 580kHz then the Edmonton station would be a good candidate!

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER X-FLARE: Solar activity has gone into overdrive. Since May 3rd, Earth-orbiting satellites have detected four X-class solar flares and an even greater number of almost X-class events.
