(NRK) Longyearbyen-1485 was definitely upgraded a few years ago, and I very much suspect a new transmitter as well, as the old one had poor modulation and a different offset than the present signal. It has massively more gain now than before and totally ruins my DX on 1480 and 1490 on beverages pointing that direction. I am 900+ km to the south of Longyearbyen. It is skywave here, I can’t hear it during summer for instance. As far as I know though, it’s still 1 kW.

Yes, the Telenor eEngineer I spoke with said, that antenna and grounding were improved in 2020, but there hasn’t been green light so far for raising the tx power and it is still 1 kW.

From NRK:
“We are only allowed to broadcast to the Spitsbergen Island (Svalbard) and the surrounding ocean areas with this transmitter. The national regulator has set a limit of 1kW.”
