Voice of Pujiang” on 1422kHz (25kW), a radio service for Taiwan operated by  Shanghai Radio & Television Station (SMG: Shanghai Media Group) , terminated its broadcast on January 1, 2025 without previous notice. The station began its transmission in January 1988, in 2000’s was using shortwave (3280, 4950, 9705kHz etc.) along with 1422kHz , received by the listeners around the world. The shortwave transmission ended in May 2013. By the way “Pujiang” is the abbreviation of “Hungpu River” in Shanghai.
On the same day SMG also terminated Story Radio (102.7MHz), 5 Star Sports Radio (94.0MHz), Lovejoy Fashion Radio (98.1MHz) and 3 TV channels without notice.

I have one update to report for a TIS (Tourist Information Station, I would call it?) on 1520 AM. I have visited the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge near Decatur yesterday with my family. It’s definitely worth the visit, and coming from the interstate there even was a sign advising me to tune to 1520 AM for information. However, the channel was empty.
The staff on site (it’s their busy season, with 20,000 migratory cranes staying for the winter) was pleasantly surprised when I asked about it. They have closed the radio station six months ago, saying that the operating costs were no longer justifiable. I hadn’t missed much, they said, it was just a loop with the opening hours. But I was the first one to ask about it!
They took a note that the sign was still up and are planning to take it down soon.
One to strike off the bucket list!

Moldova / Transnistria

According to local sources there is lot of power outages due the ongoing energetic crisis in Transnistria, yesterday I checked the local stations, (04.01.2025) Vesti FM missed from 1413 kHz, while Radio Rossii had low power on 999 kHz, it had very weak signal here. Radio 1 plus also missed from 621 kHz on that day.
