STRONG GEOMAGNETIC STORM: A strong G3-class geomagnetic storm is underway on April 16th [16.00 UTC / Ed] following the arrival of a “cannibal CME.” If current conditions persist, auroras could become visible across Canada and northern-tier US states during the night of April 16-17.

UPDATE! Radio Liberty said late last night (15 April) that the operator of the Lithuanian transmitter on 1386 had agreed to continue relaying RL for free. It said the relays would now be at 1930 to 2200 Moscow time (1630-1900 GMT).

RL has updated its story to say that the free airtime on 1386 will only last until the end of April. Like Mauno, I suspect they got confused over the times, miscalculating conversions between Prague, Vilnius and Moscow.

After several months of inactivity, the evangelical religious radio station RADIO HOSANNA ‘Dios Salva Hoy’ (1640 KHz), which broadcasts from the town of Isidro Casanova, La Matanza district, Buenos Aires province, is back on the air.
RADIO LA MÁS SANTIAGUEÑA from Gregorio de Laferrere (AM 1160 KHz) also returned to the air, after being off the air for several days, which allowed LU32 Radio Coronel Olavarría to be perfectly tuned in the AMBA on the same frequency during its absence.
RADIO ONDA LATINA (1010 KHz) has been off the air again for several days, as has RADIO MAGNA from Villa Martelli (680 KHz), which was active for only 1 day, apparently with a test broadcast or something like that…
Those that have disappeared from the dial are two stations that remained on the air for a long time: They are AM 1440 RADIO IMPACTO, with studios in Tapiales and a transmitting plant in Ciudad Madero; as well as LRI213 RADIO EL SOL, with studios in the city of Buenos Aires and a transmitting plant in Don Bosco, in the district of Quilmes. It should be noted that the latter had long since ceased to have its own programming, and only rebroadcast to its FM station (Radio Late, 93.1 MHz).
Another station that has not been heard for some time is AM 1000 AMPLITUD DIGITAL (1000 KHz), which broadcasts from the town and district of José C. Paz; as well as two other stations in the West Zone of Greater Buenos Aires: RADIO AM 1530 LA VOZ DEL FUTURO from Parque San Martín, District of Merlo, and RADIO ESENCIA ‘La Voz del Litoral’ from Santa María, District of San Miguel, both on 1530 KHz.
