Tonga just before their sun rise 17:28UTC.
Here’s a report from our club TDXC’s recent DXpedition to Hachijo-jima (Island) off the coast of Tokyo, about 270km.
On May 11th (Sunday), the MW propagation condition from North America to TP/DU was reported as bad to worse by Nick Hall-Patch san, but it was an excellent night for us for North -South propagation. As some of you who also join RealDX group might have noted some posts there from our DXpedition too, here’s a sample recording of Tonga on 1017kHz around 17:28UTC, which our Shinzo Ushio san noticed first , with weather forecasts in English language. MW List shows its schedule is from 19:00 but it was on the air and was heard near to 18:00, their sun rise. We usually catch them at our early evening hours like 08:00-09:00UTC at this time of the year, so catching them at such hours was a surprise.
