Two weeks ago, I visited the island of Flores in the Azores. I went up to Monte das Cruzes to take a closer look at the antennas for RDP‘s Antena 1 and RDP Açores, both of which broadcast on 828 kHz.
I had brought my Qodosen DX-286 with me to check out the transmitter. I was very disappointed when there was nothing to be heard on the frequency. Neither when I stood next to the masts nor when I listened from the town of Santa Cruz das Flores.
Does anyone know if the transmitter is temporarily out of service or if it has been shut down for good?
