ABC Perth, West Australia, news for c/o date.
6PB – ABC Newsradio will stay on the air and simulcast on AM/FM. 6PB is also part of the ABC network so tax payers would still foot that bill.
The other 2 stations will switch off on April 6th, following a six week simulcast period.
I checked yesterday if there were already FM signals in Perth on the proposed frequencies but didn’t hear anything on the Perth FMDX Webserver. It is amazing to see how empty that FM band is in Perth for such a large metropolitan market (2.3 million people).
