New application from Halmstad for medium wave broadcasting.
“Halmstad Mellanvåg” has applied to the media authority for a permanent permit to broadcast on medium wave, provisionally 1602 kHz.
According to the application, “the broadcasts shall provide an independent program offering with a focus on local non-commercial audio radio broadcasting on medium wave with a cultural-historical, technical, public education and emergency-related focus.
The purpose is to add another independent voice to the airwaves and thereby strengthen freedom of expression, freedom of information and diversity in the relevant broadcasting area.”
Behind the application is Henrik Pålsson, who previously periodically broadcast Funkisradion on both FM and medium wave.
Sveriges Radio broadcast from 1949 to 1970 on medium wave from Halmstad on 1562 kHz.
