Listening Exercise of IberiaDX

Welcome to ESCO-01, the first Coordinated Listening Exercise of @IberiaDX board. We propose a monthly listening exercise for everyone interested, being or not an IberiaDX member.
Pedro and I have organized this very first event that we hope you enjoy it. After this first email, we will send a reminder the day before the session takes place. Please keep in mind that this is not a competition; the goal is simply: to identify which stations, whether official, unlicensed, or “pirate”, are currently active across the radio spectrum.

ESCO-01 · THE EVENT
The first coordinated listening session will begin at 00:00 local time on Friday, November 6 (Thursday night into Friday) and will conclude at 23:59 local time on Sunday, November 8.
This first event will focus on British medium-wave (MW) broadcasting stations operating between 531 kHz and 1720 kHz (including legal, unlicensed, and pirate stations). It is also worth noting stations that you are aware of but can’t be received at your specific location due to various factors (such as QRM/interference, atmospheric storms, poor propagation, etc.).
Any type of receiver and antenna can be used, and site of listening is restricted to a chosen grid locator during the whole event. The use of remote SDRs is not permitted, unless the equipment belongs to you personally. Check your grid locator here: https://www.dxfuncluster.com/locator.php

Please submit your results in an Excel spreadsheet, Word document, or text file, including the following fields (example below):
DATE UTC kHz ITU STATION TXer DETAILS NOTES SINPO

2026-11-06 12:12 1107 G-Eng TalkSport (ID location here) MultiTxer Football match, jingle. Noisy, variable. 433

Data should be submitted either via email through the “IberiaDX” forum (http://groups.io/g/iberiaDX) or via WhatsApp to +34 657 348 474 as an attached file (please do not send plain text logs within a WhatsApp message).

Submissions will be accepted throughout Monday, Nov 9th and Tuesday, Nov 10th, until 21:00 UTC. Please include your full name, QTH (country), and details regarding the receiver and antenna used. A brief comment on the stations heard and session would also be appreciated. Should you have any questions, we are here to help.

73 and happy listening to everyone!
