2AY AM-FM Conversion & 2WG changes
Changes to Albury License plan from ACMA proposal:
Make FM spectrum available to enable the 2AY commercial radio broadcasting service (2AY) in the Albury RA1 license area to convert transmission from AM to FM.
Make spectrum available for the 2REM community radio broadcasting service (2REM) to serve the Albury RA2 license area. This will allow 2REM to transmit on 90.5 MHz instead of 107.3 MHz, making the 107.3 MHz spectrum available for the FM conversion of 2AY.
Making spectrum available for one new FM infill transmitter for 2REM in the Albury RA2 license area, at Culcairn.
Changes to Wagga Wagga License plan
Make FM spectrum available to enable the 2WG commercial radio broadcasting service (2WG) in the Wagga Wagga RA1 license area to simulcast in both AM and FM
Make FM spectrum available for an FM infill transmitter for the 2AAA community radio broadcasting service to serve the Wagga Wagga RA3 license area at Ladysmith
Make FM spectrum available for an FM infill transmitter for the 2AAA community radio broadcasting service (2AAA) to serve the Wagga Wagga RA3 license area at Uranquinty
It is intended that spectrum for the AM transmission will continue to be available for 2WG in Wagga Wagga after the FM transmission is implemented, due to significant anticipated coverage loss should the AM transmission cease.
We would expect the licensee to commit to maintaining AM transmission for a minimum period of 5 years by making a deed poll to this effect in favour of the ACMA.
