After announcing the $5 million purchase of 990 WMYM/98.7 W254DT Kendall/Miami FL from Actualidad Media Group on Monday, Salem Media Group continues its return to the Miami market with the acquisition of Fenix Broadcasting Corp’s Spanish Talk “La Poderosa 670” WWFE/103.1 W276DV Miami and co-owned WRHC Broadcasting Corporation’s Spanish Variety “Cadena Azul” 1550 WRHC Coral Gables/98.7 W254DV Miramar FL for $5 million.
The deal follows the passing of WWFE and WRHC owner Jorge Rodriguez Sr. as Salem returns to the Miami market after the company sold its four stations off between 2017 and 2020.

Salem Media Group has announced the acquisition of 990 WMYM/98.7 W254DT Kendall/Miami FL from Actualidad Media Group.
Salem will pay $5 million for WMYM and its 30 acre tower site southwest of Miami on the fringes of the Everglades. The station operates with 7.5kW day and 5kW night with directional signal giving it better daytime coverage of most of the Bahamas than Fort Lauderdale. A Time Brokerage Agreement will take effect on Wednesday, November 16.
The deal marks the return of Salem to the Miami market as the company sold its four stations off between 2017 and 2020. The company states it intends to launch a Spanish language Conservative and Family themed format on the signals.
Actualidad Media Group will retain its three other signals in the Miami market in Spanish News/Talk “Actualidad 1040” WURN/103.9 W280FV Miami, Brokered Haitian 1020 WLVJ Boynton Beach, and Spanish AC “Exitos 107.1” WURN-FM Key Largo.

Catholic network Relevant Radio has agreed to purchase 1520 WPAY Rossford/94.1 W231EF Toledo OH from Robert Jamrog and Patricia Anderson-Kimble’s Fusion Radio LLC for $500,000 in a deal brokered by George Kimble.
The deal comes as Fusion completed the move of the translator from operating with ten watts on 92.1 to 140 watts on 94.1. Relevant Radio will begin operating the signals via a Time Brokerage Agreement on Monday, October 24.
The Rhythmic AC “Party 103.3” programming currently heard on WPAY and Fusion’s 103.3 W277BI Toledo will now be fed via Delmarva Educational Association’s 106.5 WTOD-HD2 Delta.

Civic Media has closed on its purchase of 1100 WISS Berlin/98.3 W252DR Oshkosh WI and has flipped it to Liberal Talk “Air Support Radio“.
The company paid Thomas Boyson’s Hometown Broadcasting $700,000 to acquire the signals, which had been simulcasting Oldies “The Bug” 102.3 WAUH Wautoma. The new brand will feature the Liberal Talk lineup that Civic Media is rolling out on many of its stations it is acquiring across the state and will also carry Milwaukee Brewers baseball.

Chisolm Trail Communications sells Silent 1400 KEBE/104.7 K284CT Jacksonville and 1580 KTLU/103.9 K280CL Rusk TX to Dick Witkovski’s North Texas Radio Group for $125,000 minus the $11,000 owed to the buyer by previous owner Paul Coates. The deal includes the tower site for KEBE. The stations ceased broadcasting in July ahead of a pending deal.

The National Communications Entity (ENaCom) granted the AM1570 frequency to the Radio Rebelde cooperative, chaired by Luis D’Elía.
It plans to retransmit AM740’s programming, which it was never able to legalize.

James Harold Heathcock Jr.’s Heathcock Communications will acquire Classic Hits 105.5 WABO-FM and 990 WABO Waynesboro MS from Martin Broadcasting for $300,000. The deal was originally agreed to when Heathcock began operated WABO/WABO-FM in June 2019 via Time Brokerage Agreement.
Zee Ferrufino’s Latino Communications is selling 1480 KAVA/107.5 K298CG Pueblo CO to Dave Moore’s Kix Broadcasting for $159,000. Moore, who previously owned and programmed “KIQ’N Country” 106.9 KIQN, will begin operating KAVA via Time Brokerage Agreement on October 1. We reported on the future branding for the station in our 9/16 Domain Insight report. Latino will retain Regional Mexican “Que Bueno 1280” KBNO/97.7 K249EX Denver, which currently simulcasts on KAVA.

Sage Weil and Mike Crute’s Civic Media continues its rapid expansion across Wisconsin with the purchase of Oldies 1590 WGBW Denmark/97.9 W250CV Green Bay and 1530 WLAK/93.9 W230DA New Holstein WI.
Mark Heller’s MetroWest Communications will receive $937,000 for the pair. The deal continues Civic Media’s rapid expansion across the state of Wisconsin. Upon closing of all of its pending deals, the company will own eleven stations with its shareholders also holding stakes in two others.
Civic Media has also expanded its flagship Liberal Talk format to two more of its stations. Upon the close of its purchase of Fruit Broadcasting’s Standards 1450 WRCO/107.7 W299CD and Country 100.9 WRCO-FM Richland Center last week, the company relaunched WRCO/W299CD as “News From The Center” under new WRCE call letters.

Nashville Public Radio is selling one of its three signals in its home market.
Tony Richards’ Kensington Digital Media will acquire “WPLN International” 1430 WPLN Madison TN for $1.3 million. The deal includes the real estate associated with the station’s four tower array for its 15kW day/1kW night signal, but not the current call letters. The station currently runs the BBC World Service around the clock.
Kensington will add WPLN to its holdings in the Nashville area that include Hot AC 1010 WHIN/100.7 W264CR/107.9 W300EA Gallatin on the east side of the market and Classic Hits “94.5 Hippie Radio” WHPY-FM Bellevue rimshotting the city from the west.
Nashville Public Radio retains Public News/Talk 90.3 WPLN-FM and AAA 91.1 WNXP Nashville .
