WMNA 730.
Saul Chernos posted this just now on FB, anyone closer to confirm format switch?

“730 WMNA VA Gretna is listed as sports and even maintains a web site with that running on its stream. But I am almost certain I heard an ID amidst southern gospel that included 104.3 in the ID. I found the following FB item from 2021…
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=371730354606366
Someone closer to there might be able to figure out this in more definitive fashion…
WMNA has been heard here before…in 2011 with a local sports game live.”

I can verify that 730 WMNA Gretna is now Country Gospel.

Greatest Hits Radio Scotland.
Following the merger and rebranding of 1107, 1152 and 1161kHz I thought I would check the programming.

Today around the middle of the day I noticed all three frequencies carrying the same programming with good audio synchronisation (ID as a “Greatest Hits Radio for Scotland” or “Greatest Hits Radio”) except for:

Ad breaks appear to be completely different on all three frequencies and include a mix of local, Scottish and UK wide businesses.
News at 1300utc  was separate on all three channels (with different news announcer voices)
News is followed by very short local weather. E.g on 1152 “weather for Glasgow and the West”
ID at top of hour e.g. 1161 “Across Tayside & Fife this Greatest Hit Radio”
Note that “Top of Hour” ID and start of news was a full minute late.

Comparison with Greatest Hits Radio Sheffield 1305 showed the same music  but not synchronised in time (about 60seconds difference). Same music but different DJs with different chat between records. The ad=fternnon show is probably live but might be voicetracked.

It’s a very special Radio Caroline North broadcast from Ross Revenge this Easter weekend – we’re launching our CROWDFUNDER CAMPAIGN to raise funds to get Ross Revenge into dry dock for urgent work to keep her afloat – find out more at rossrevenge.com
Guest presenters Keith Rogers and Roger Day will be joining the team on board.
Keith was a DJ on Radio Northsea International in the early 70s, broadcasting from the Mebo II in international waters. He was on board the pirate radio ship when it was bombed by a rival radio station in 1971. The bomb caused fire to break out and the crew were forced to abandon ship. Since then Keith has presented on a number of stations, including Radio Orwell and Essex Radio.

Tune in from Good Friday 7 – Easter Sunday 9 April on 648 AM across England, The Netherlands, Belgium and beyond, on 1368 AM in the North/North-West, via @Manx Radio , worldwide online at radiocaroline.co.uk and on the app.

New Zealand

Demise of NZ Talk Radio Network – Today FM – affect on MW frequencies.
With the abrupt closure of MediaWork’s talk format network competing with NZME’s Newstalk ZB, the remaining AM frequencies that carried Today FM are now carrying the following alternative MediaWorks brands:
702 Auckland – Humm FM
738 Christchurch – The Breeze
1233 Wellington – The Breeze.

Announcements yesterday indicated a new format would be introduced on all Today FM’s FM and AM frequencies in April, so it is unclear whether the above are permanent or fillers.

Today FM was launched just over one year ago, and the overseas based owners of MediaWorks made the closure decision on economic grounds.   Earlier Today FM frequency 1107 AM with synchro transmitters serving Tauranga and Rotorua closed down a few months back.
