Ofcom recently extended the licences of numerous community radio stations for five years. The list includes Radio Warrington (28 Edward Gardens, Woolston, Warrington WA1 4QT, https://radiowarrington.co.uk/) broadcasting on 1332 kHz “from the town, for the town”. The licence now runs until 15 May 2026. The station started in 2007 as an internet station since March 2007. With no FM frequency available in the region, Radio Warrington accepted a community radio licence for medium wave in 2014. However, the start of terrestrial broadcasting was delayed until 2016 because the search for a transmitter location and the construction of the system was more complicated than for VHF
