Transatlantic long wave propagation was unusually good last night June 11, 2022, around 0230 UTC, received in Maryland near Washington DC. The receiver was SDRplay RSPdx with SDRuno software, using a 550 foot beverage antenna aimed at Europe. ISLAMABAD: The government has allocated around Rs2100 million for Information and Broadcasting Division in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the year 2022-2023 for five ongoing and 12 new projects.
According to the budgetary document released here on Friday, the government has specified Rs1588.335 million for the new projects and Rs511 million for ongoing projects of the Information and Broadcasting Division.
Among the ongoing projects, an allocation of Rs298.956 million have been earmarked for restructuring of news operations of the Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation (APPC). Rs62.709 million have been allocated for the establishment of the Pakistan Information Centre (Phase-I).
Moreover, Rs50 million each has been allocated for establishment of 100KW medium wave radio station at Gwadar, rehabilitation of medium wave services at Muzaffarabad and replacement of medium wave transmitter at Mirpur.
Rs503 million have been earmarked for National Information Media Archives Repository, whereas Rs300 million have been set aside for Central Monitoring Unit.

Another great chapter in radio history comes to an end today, with the demise of 2CH.
After serving the Sydney radio market for more than 90 years and entertaining listeners with music from the 60s, 70s and 80s, 2CH will be switched off at 6pm.
After decades on the AM band, then being relegated to DAB+ only, the digital age has finally caught up with the station, with Sports Entertainment Network confirming that today will be the final day on air for 2CH:
“SEN would like to thank and acknowledge the passionate 2CH audience for listening, to everyone at SEN who has contributed to the station over the last 18 months, and to all former hosts and team on and off the air who were part of 2CH’s 90 year journey. SEN would also like to recognise Tim Webster for his dedication and commitment to the station.”
2CH will continue to entertain listeners with music from the 60s, 70s and 80s before signing off for good tonight.

CRC Media West’s Sports “Team 1010” KXPS/102.7 K274DA Thousand Palms CA relaunched as “102.7 The Fanatic” on June 1.
The move came with the sign-off of 1010 KXPS, with the station now being fed by Marker Broadcasting’s 95.9 KJJZ-HD3 Indian Wells. The weekday lineup stays the same with Fox Sports Radio’s Dan Patrick Show from 6-9am, CBS Sports Radio’s Jim Rome Show from 9am-12pm and Maggie & Perloff from 12-1pm, and VSiN’s The Edge and My Guys In The Desert follow from 1-3pm. The local “Pure Sports with Geoff Bloom” remains in the 3-6pm slot and CBS Sports Radio in nights, overnights, and weekends. The new brand duplicates co-owned “1580 The Fanatic” KQFN Tempe/Phoenix.
The sign-off on KXPS was accompanied by the shutdown of CRC Media West’s other AM in the market as Mark Westwood’s Westmark LLC lease to operate Oldies “Studio 100.9” 1200 KPSF/100.9 K265FH Cathedral City/Palm Springs came to and end just six months after launching the format. K265FH is currently rebroadcasting KJJZ-HD3 as well.
In the Silent STA request filed with the FCC, owner Ron Cohen states both stations are requesting to go off the air for 90 days as they operate on generator power “and the cost of fuel has become prohibitive to continue to operate the station during the heat of summer in Palm Springs”.
Original Report 5/26: CRC Media West’s Sports “Team 1010” KXPS/102.7 K274DA Thousand Palms CA is promoting a “change is coming” on Wednesday, June 1.
KXPS’s website features a countdown clock to June 1 that features a logo icon similar to the one used by co-owned “1580 The Fanatic” KQFN Tempe/Phoenix. On-air promos also indicate that the 1010 signal will be “going away” on that date and to keep listening on the FM. KXPS currently airs a mix of programming from the Fox Sports radio, CBS Sports Radio, and VSiN networks.
CRC Media West also owns Oldies “Studio 100.9” 1200 KPSF/100.9 K265FH Cathedral City in the Palm Springs market. KPSF is operated by Mark Westwood’s Westmark LLC via LMA.
