TIME SIGNALS: As is the case in France in Allouis, the Polskie Radio transmitter in Solec Kujawski has been used, since the end of this month, to transmit a time signal. The dissemination is carried out in collaboration with the Central Measurement Bureau in Warsaw. The transmitter broadcasts the official digital time signal on 225 kHz in addition to Polish radio modulation.
The time signal generated by the atomic clock has a frame structure similar to that of the German transmitter DCF77 in Mainflingen. Solec’s transmitter allows for higher signal strength than DCF.
During the first quarter of 2024, the precision of the ground wave signal is expected to reach the order of microseconds.
This time model is successfully used by industrial customers (e.g. energy pricing), infrastructure customers (e.g. transport tickets, master clocks) as well as utilities and research institutes.
The Central Measurement Office also offers designs for self-assembling electronic systems, intended to receive a long-wave digital time signal.
This new service will perpetuate the long waves in Poland. Unlike France, a rational use of the installation is made: by combining the broadcast of the radio program and the time signal, as in the past with France Inter!.
The project is carried out with 84% aid from the European Union, the balance is the responsibility of the government.
