Japan

Of the 47 commercial MW stations in Japan, 44, excluding Hokkaido (2 station) and Akita, are scheduled to “Convert to FM” by 2028.
Several stations are scheduled to suspend (virtually eliminate) their low-power relay stations starting next February. Yamaguchi Hoso even plans to suspend its main station 765 kHz JOPF.
Details were previously reported.

However, according to the Tokai Radio website below, this station will remain on MW after the “FM conversion”. This station will operate FM as its main station and MW 1332 kHz JOSF will continue to operate as a complementary relay station after the “FM conversion”.

This is a rare case. I will keep informed as soon as I receive such information.
