As reported in this previous posting, Tony Currie, the founder of Radio Six International, sadly passed away on September 26.
As a tribute to his passionate MW project on 1467 kHz, COHIRADIA made a dedicated wideband MW recording available in its archive. What a great joy it was to tune in to Radio Six International on 1467 kHz every weekend since March 2026 from midnight onwards, enjoying a full hour of good music in usually good audio quality on our medium wave receivers — spanning a big part of Europe, thanks to the broadcast from the Roumoules transmitter with its massive 1000 kW output. Thank you, Tony, for this wonderful attempt to revive AM radio! Short-lived as the pleasure may have been, we absolutely loved it !
This recording features one hour of the entire MW band, capturing, among other stations, Radio Six in good reception quality at the Graz (AUT) location on September 20, 2026. It is highly likely one of the last broadcasts. In addition, a recording of one of the first test transmissions on March 28, 2026, recorded in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid (GER), is also available. A third recording made in France in September will follow in the near future.
Remark: The recordings can be played back on a PC with standard SDR software like HDSDR, SDRUno, SDR#, SDRoxide or similar tools. Alternatively playback on analogue AM-receivers is possible via the tools provided on cohiradia.org.
