According to a source close to National Radio Laos in Vientiane, the station previously broadcasting on 567 is no longer in operation. It appears that Luang Prabang 705 is the only MW frequency still broadcasting from Laos.

Asfalttelegrafen 1494 kHz.
In a brief e-mail from Torleif, the operator, tonight is the last chance to hear Asfalttelegrafen on 1494kHz. Apparently he has received 100 reports from around Europe since he came on air on 23/12 from Ludvika, Sweden. He will be on-air from 2000UTC to 2300UTC tonight (4/1) after which his licence will run out.
I have tried unsuccessfully on a few evenings to hear Asfalttelegrafen and although the Sony’s sync detector locks onto a signal it never really climbs out of the noise. The only station I managed to briefly hear on 1494kHz was on 26/12 at 2135UTC when 60s oldies were heard, not really Asfalttelegrafen’s 70’s rock.
Will try one more time tonight….

Surprise, surprise! Can report that we – Radio Northern Star -are back on 1611 and 5895 kHz thanks to our new technician. Since the regular internet connection is down due to construction work on the broadcast site, the solution was mobile streaming.
Have also improved the sound settings on 1611. Should therefore sound better. We expect more downtime, but will try to be back!

After 2½ years of work, my Chinese AM ID Database is nearing its completion, including nearly 40 hours of station audio, top-of-hour IDs and time pips for nearly 600 stations (almost the entire Chinese-language AM band), network and frequency lists, and recordings of often hard-to-identify Asian languages and dialects.
In addition to that, last-minute plans to include the entirety of the Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau AM bands are already underway.
I have been working on this project for 40 hours a week for the past two months to ensure it is
completed next month and can admit it is perhaps one of my biggest contributions to the radio
hobby, certainly since my last major project in 2017. Plus, it is a full documentation of the Chinese
AM band as it begins to meet a similar fate as other country’s AM bands have. Hope you all can
enjoy this project in the near future. http://www.chriskadlec.com/radio/china-database

A weather bulletin called Weather Shipping started on 1st January 1924, broadcast twice daily at
0900 and 2000 GMT, from the powerful Air Ministry station G.F.A. in London on a wavelength of
4100metres. It moved to BBC longwave in 1925. It continues to this day as the Shipping Forecast
on 198kHz LW.

Tonight as reported both 945 and 1287 kHz broadcast Galei Zahal, the programme as streamed on their website. 1287 kHz is still distorted and very shrill. Enclosed a recording from Cyprus at 18:42 CET, ten seconds of 945 kHz followed by 1287 kHz, with no other change than the frequency switch in between.
1287 kHz is presumably the transmitter used by Voice of Hope from 2017 to 2019, I understand that the former Galei Zahal facility for this frequency no longer exists. 945 kHz is presumably Yavne where a
transmitter operated on that frequency (until 2000 used by Voice of Hope from South Lebanon) for some time until Galei Zahal abandoned mediumwave in the last decade.

Last Transmission of Kalundborg available on historical LW broadband recording:
A first IQ-wideband recording of the last transmission of Kalundborg (243kHz) is now available in the COHIRADIA archive (LINK: https://www.radiomuseum.org/dsp_cohiradia.cfm). The band extends from 118 – 368 kHz and has very good SNR with a clear signal.
This recording was kindly provided by Claus Juul Nielsen and covers the full length of the special program broadcast by DR from 13:28 – 17:20 as well as the last series of jingles until transmitter shutdown. This unique recording can be downloaded freely from the archive (LINK: https://www.radiomuseum.org/dsp_cohiradia_detail.cfm?id=98). It can be played back on a PC with software for software defined radios (e.g. SDRUno) but also on analogue radios receivers when using the RedPitaya platform supported by COHIRADIA.
Additional recordings from other receiving sites will be uploaded during the next days and will be available soon.
Footnote: The files, though having the extension ‘wav’, are no audio files and cannot be played back with standard audio players. Use SDRUno, SDR#, SDR-Angel, HDSDR or similar tools.
