Since a couple of days I notice a new Ukrainian px from TWR on 1395 starting with IS at 1947, sign off with IS 2047. Direction seems to be +/- 130 degrees. Unknown site.

I wonder why they choose this freq as Overcomer Ministries radiates their programme from Gavar with 500 KW between 19 and 21h.

My query to TWR sent last Tuesday remains unreplied by now, needs further investigation.

Hi Stefan,
I think it is a transmitter mixing product at Gavar site, the fundamental Ukrainian programme is on 1377 kHz.

Radio208 is back on the air on 1440 kHz broadcasting with 400 Watts from Ishøj, Copenhagen.   In parallel to 5970 kHz (100 Watts) from Hvidovre, Copenhagen.

The old CCA 1 kW transmitter from 1974 is no longer in use. The tubes and driver tubes were worn out, and they would have been rather expensive to replace. Besides, the old tube transmitter consumed a lot of electricity. So the use of this transmitter ceased a few months ago. A spare 75 Watts transmitter was put into use on August 11th, but this transmitter broke down about a month later. A new transistorized transmitter was ordered, and this has now been put into service today Saturday from around midday.

Broadcasting hours on 1440 kHz is now 0400-2400 UTC.  Broadcasting hours on 5970 kHz and via Internet streaming remain 24 hours 7 days a week.

Canada

Dan Sys’ rwcrn page has alerted me to the very recent announcement that 540 CBT Grand Falls, Newfoundland will move to FM on 31st December.

CBC’s Radio One in Grand Falls NL (CBT) will leave AM for 93.3FM on 31st December. CBT started originally on 1350kHz in July 1949 with 1kW. CBT moved to 540kHz in 1965 and the power increased to 10kW. CBC applied to the CRTC to move to 93.3FM with 100kW in July 2021, the move* was granted on 26th January 2022. In granting the move, the CRTC stated that they received no interventions to the proposal. The new FM station is located in Botwood, about 25km north-east of the existing AM site which is in Grand Falls itself. CBT-FM was reported on air on 3rd November and CBC say that 540 will close on 31st December.

CBT vacating 540 will leave the 50kW CBC Radio One CBK in Watrous, Saskatchewan as the sole remaining high-power CBC Radio One outlet on 540kHz. NB there are two LPRTs, each of 40W, in British Columbia (source: own records, rwcrn, CBC website and broadcasting-history.com)

It would be good to see a few logs of this station published in DX Loggings before it goes silent. With it being relatively common I feel it likely that CBT is under-reported in DX Loggings. One thing is for certain, unless there is a change of plan there will be no logs of CBT in 2023. That may mean more logs of CBK, but I am not placing any money on that outcome!

Moldova / Transnistria

621 kHz from Republic of Pridnestrowie does (in contradiction against most listings) indeed relay a mix of both, 1st program “Radio One” (format with lots of recent dance and uptempo house tracks in english language and some russian dance + long talk episodes about history) which is mostly on before 16 hours UTC and 2nd program “Radio One Plus” (soviet times schlager and shanson in russian language) after the news at 17 hours UTC

This nice, exotic signal (it is a domestic station of a country which doesnt exist in the opinion of most western state governments) can now during winter period be heard in Europe from 15 hours UTC until the s/off around 16:19 UTC.
News and weather on top of each hour, mentioning the time in Tiraspol, the self-claimed capital of Republic of Pridnestrowie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtLuvJqBE2M

Easy comparison possibility with live stream of both networks available online (http://radio.pgtrk.com/).
ID of 1st program is “pervoe radio” , ID of 2nd program is “Radio Adin Pliyus”
Republic of Pridnestrowie is a part of Moldovan territory, located on the right banks of the river Dnestr.

QSL reports are sometimes answered by a beautiful, stamped DIN A4 certificate in full color on thick paper, postcards added.

1098-Marshall Islands.
Thanks for the info on the Marshall Is station, Gary DeBock.  It’s been a couple of years since we last heard it at Grayland.  It looks like the station has greatly reduced its power.  Maybe a transmitter or antenna problem.  Or because of higher power costs.
At least we know the station is still on the air.

Now available Slogans List as of November 2, 2022.
https://misc.kg4lac.com/irca

4,736 stations with slogans.
If a station doesn’t appear this indicates I don’t have the station slogan.

Since silent stations come and go, seemingly, quicker than I can update the list, silent stations remain in the list until they are actually deleted from the FCC list.

As always, please let me know of additions, corrections, etc. Acknowledgements are given on the final page of the Slogans List.
